Kory Reid
Director, Fog City Singers
Kory Reid, a Napa Valley native, began his singing journey as a kid duetting Simon and Garfunkel tunes with his older brother on a karaoke machine. His love for singing harmony at a young age made him curious to explore the nuances of choral music in his prestigious high school vocal program. It was there that he became infatuated with a cappella vocal literature, which led him to study Music Education at Pepperdine University and complete a Master’s Degree in Choral and Sacred Music from the University of Southern California.
Kory spent twelve years singing countertenor with the the Grammy award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer, with whom he held posts of Assistant Music Director and Education Manager. As a barbershopper, Kory sang with The Westminster Chorus in 2010 during their BHS International gold-medal winning performance, and recently won the 2024 Far Western District Northwest Division Quartet Contest singing baritone with his quartet, Purple Rebar.
In addition to his professional singing career, Kory is also a sought-after vocal ensemble coach, clinician, and educator for diverse barbershop, a cappella, and classical choral groups across the country. In his spare time, you can find Kory enjoying a dry martini, counting cards at the blackjack table, and showing no mercy while playing Catan with friends.
